Common questions about ADHD care
Do I need a formal ADHD test?
A thorough clinical evaluation is the standard for diagnosing adult ADHD. Dr. Justin uses validated rating scales and a detailed history of school, work, and relationships. Lengthy computerized testing is rarely required, and we will tell you if it would help.
Can stimulants be prescribed by telehealth?
In many cases yes. Controlled medications are prescribed only when clinically appropriate after a complete evaluation and generally not at the first visit. We check the Arizona prescription monitoring program before every controlled prescription. See our policies.
What if I was diagnosed as a kid but never treated?
That is very common. Bring whatever records you have, or none at all. The evaluation covers your history from childhood to now.
Will insurance cover this?
Most plans cover psychiatric evaluation and medication management with your usual specialist copay. We verify benefits before your visit. Self-pay is $220 for the evaluation and $120 for follow-ups.
