How it works

How VA Community Care works with us

If you have a Community Care referral, we bill the VA directly and you owe nothing out of pocket.

  1. 1Ask your VA provider or patient advocate for a Community Care referral for outpatient psychiatry, or send us your TRICARE details.
  2. 2We confirm the referral or benefits and schedule your first visit, usually within a week.
  3. 3Meet Dr. Justin by secure video for a full-hour evaluation. We send notes back to the VA if you want us to.

Questions

Questions Veterans and families ask

Do I need a referral from the VA?

For VA Community Care, yes. Ask your VA mental health team or patient advocate for a referral to a community psychiatric provider. For TRICARE, a referral depends on your plan; we can help you check.

Do you treat PTSD?

Yes. PTSD, sleep problems, anxiety, depression, and substance use are common reasons Veterans see us.

I am retired and on Medicare. Does TRICARE For Life work here?

Yes. Medicare pays first and TRICARE For Life covers the rest, and we accept both.

Do you see spouses and kids too?

Yes. We see military spouses, children, and teens under TRICARE.
