Visits from home anywhere in the Valley, or in person by arrangement

Most Better Place Now visits are by secure video, so you can be seen from home in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Tempe, Ahwatukee, Queen Creek, Glendale, Peoria, Surprise, Goodyear, Avondale, Buckeye, Anthem or Cave Creek without the drive. Evening and weekend times are offered by video. In-person visits in the Phoenix area are available by arrangement: ask the team when you schedule.
You must be physically located in Arizona during each video visit, from home or another private space. The rule is about where you are during the appointment: if you are traveling outside Arizona that day, the visit waits until you are back.
- Psychiatric evaluation: a full hour on symptoms, history, sleep, health and every current medication.
- ADHD evaluation and ADHD treatment for children 6 and up, teens and adults.
- Anxiety and depression, bipolar disorder and PTSD and trauma.
- Medication management, including a second opinion on a plan that is not working.
Children, teens, adults and older adults across the Valley
- Children (6 and up) and teens from North Phoenix to the East and West Valley, with a parent or guardian part of every visit. With your written permission, care is coordinated with your child's pediatrician, therapist or school; see child and teen care.
- Adults who want a careful evaluation before any medication decision, or a fresh look at a current plan.
- Older adults in Sun City, Sun City West, Sun Lakes and other retirement communities. Medicare.gov states that through December 31, 2027, Medicare covers telehealth services from home (Medicare.gov (opens in a new tab)), and a family member can help book and join the visit; see Medicare psychiatric care.
AHCCCS in Maricopa and Pinal counties
AHCCCS's health plan list shows Banner-University Family Care serving Maricopa and Pinal counties, alongside other AHCCCS Complete Care plans (AHCCCS (opens in a new tab)).
- Banner-University Family Care members pay $0 at Better Place Now: no copays and no missed-appointment fees.
- American Indian Health Program members pay $0 too, including members of the Gila River Indian Community and the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community who are enrolled in AIHP. If a Tribal Regional Behavioral Health Authority coordinates your behavioral health care, tell the team so it can check.
- Other AHCCCS plans, such as Mercy Care, Arizona Complete Health or UnitedHealthcare Community Plan, are not on the practice's list. Send a note with your plan name and the team will tell you before anything is scheduled. More on the AHCCCS page.
