Medication Management — Arizona & Telehealth
Psychiatric medication management, by video across Arizona
Better Place Now provides psychiatric medication management for children, teens, adults and older adults by secure video anywhere in Arizona, or in Phoenix by arrangement. After a 60-minute evaluation, Dr. Justin Schwarting, DNP, PMHNP-BC, sees you for 30-minute follow-ups ($120 self-pay) to check how the plan is working and adjust it carefully, one change at a time.

The smallest change likely to help

Medication management is more than refilling a prescription. Each visit checks what is working, side effects, sleep, health and anything new in your life, and every medication is reviewed for what it is for and whether it still earns a place in your plan.
Changes, if any, are made carefully and one at a time, so you can tell what helped. Lab work is ordered when it could change the plan. Medication is one part of care, alongside sleep, physical health and lifestyle; our approach explains how they fit together.
What ongoing care looks like
Step 1: A full evaluation first
A 60-minute psychiatric evaluation, including if you are transferring care with an existing prescription.
Step 2: Follow-ups that fit the plan
30-minute visits, often every two to four weeks at first, then spaced out once things are stable.
Step 3: Refills without hassle
Request refills at least 72 hours before you run out, at no charge. If it has been more than three months since your last visit, a follow-up comes first.
Step 4: Coordination when you want it
With your written permission, care is coordinated with your therapist, pediatrician or other outside providers.
How controlled medications are handled
Visits are by secure video anywhere in Arizona, or in person in the Phoenix area by arrangement. You must be physically located in Arizona at the time of a video visit.
- Prescribed only when clinically appropriate after a complete evaluation, and generally not at the first visit.
- The Arizona prescription monitoring program is checked before every controlled prescription.
- One controlled medication at a time; periodic lab work or an in-person evaluation may be required.
- Early refills are not provided.
Not an emergency service
If you are thinking about suicide or are in crisis, call or text 988, call 911, or call the Arizona crisis line at 1-844-534-4673.
