Behavioral Health Since 2005

Inpatient, outpatient, medical, crisis, and community settings

I start with the smallest change likely to help and build from there. My job is to make sure you understand your options well enough to choose.
— Dr. Justin Schwarting

Dr. Justin has worked in behavioral health since 2005, including six years in inpatient psychiatry and more than six years in outpatient psychiatric care. His path runs from the ICU to inpatient psychiatry and community mental health, with more than a decade in nursing. He earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice at the University of Arizona and has practiced independently since 2019.

That experience spans inpatient, outpatient, medical, crisis, and community psychiatric settings, and it shapes how care is done here: symptoms rarely have one cause, so a first visit makes room for the full story instead of the fastest label.

Better Place Now is built around time and clarity. A full 60-minute first visit, evening and weekend appointments by secure video, benefits verified before the visit, and no need to explain everything in a form.

The Framework

The Four Pillars of Our Integrative Approach

Evidence-based medicine with the rest of the picture filled in.

  • Body

Sleep, thyroid, nutrition, inflammation, and gut health can drive or mimic depression, anxiety, and ADHD. A thoughtful evaluation checks for them, including lab work and every medication already in the picture.

What We Look AtSleep · Labs · Nutrition · Medical history
  • Mind

Trauma history and the beliefs you carry about yourself shape depression and anxiety and how well treatment works, so your history belongs in the treatment plan.

What We Look AtTrauma history · Beliefs · Daily stress
  • Lifestyle

Relationships, food, and movement are treatment, not homework. Exercise, diet, and social connection have measurable effects on depression and anxiety.

What We BuildA plan you can actually do
  • Medication, Thoughtfully Used

Medication is a tool, not an identity. You'll understand what each option is for, what tradeoffs to expect, and whether it still earns a place in your plan.
