What a psychiatric evaluation covers

Step 1: Your story
What is going on now, how long it has lasted, what you have tried, and what you want to feel different.
Step 2: History
Mental-health history, family history, school, work and relationships, and anything from earlier evaluations you want to share.
Step 3: Body and medications
Sleep, medical conditions, labs, substances, and every current medication and supplement, because physical causes can drive or mimic symptoms.
Step 4: Options and a plan
What may be going on, the options and their tradeoffs, and a next step you choose. Medication is one option, never a default.
What you leave with
A clear explanation, a plan you understand, and a follow-up date if you want one. Follow-ups are 30 minutes ($120 self-pay).
When a full evaluation helps
Visits are by secure video anywhere in Arizona, or in person in the Phoenix area by arrangement. You must be physically located in Arizona at the time of a video visit.
- You want help with anxiety or depression, attention and focus, mood swings or the effects of trauma.
- You want a second opinion on a diagnosis or a medication plan.
- A therapist, school or primary-care clinician suggested a psychiatric evaluation.
- A child or teen needs an evaluation, with a parent or guardian part of every visit (child and teen care).
How to book
No referral is needed. If your insurance requires a specialist referral, the team will tell you while verifying benefits.
Step 1: Call, text or email
Or request online. Scheduling asks only what is needed to book: no health details.
Step 2: Coverage checked
The team verifies insurance and confirms the expected cost before the visit, usually within one business day.
Step 3: A full-hour first visit
By secure video anywhere in Arizona, or in person in the Phoenix area by arrangement.
